Christmas Carols, Tree Decorating, Elf on The Shelf, Ice Skating…My oh my, there are so many possible traditions to create!
It’s the holidays and you want to create amazing memories with your family, but don’t know where to begin? Do your friends and family post about their amazing holiday traditions? Have you seen all those cool posts on social media? Yeah, me too….
I have been working on finding the perfect traditions for my little family (my son and me). It hasn’t been the easiest…there are so many options and variations of these options. And of course with my self diagnosed FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out), I am always on social media looking for that perfect tradition to implement.
The reality in it all is that we don’t need to have extravagant ideas to have a great tradition. It could be as simple as baking cookies on Christmas Eve or going to a Christmas tree farm to pick your tree. Whatever it is, make it your own. Grab an idea from something you see, but make it work for you and yours. It is so easy to get caught in trying to create what social media shows us as perfection. I struggle with this often (The Perfect 4×4 Square) and have to remind myself that those are just pictures. So this year, I will focus on creating great memories for my son!
If you are still at a lost for ideas…jump over to Pinterest and take a look at some amazing ideas that I have curated on the Holiday Traditions Board. I will be sure to share our new traditions on my Instagram page. Please share your traditions and ideas with me as well. I would love to see them.
